Handouts are linked to files that you can open and print. Textbook assignments can be completed using the text issued to students for home use.
| This is a history fair year. History Fair is an awesome way for students to learn researching and writing skills as well as become experts in one area of history. 7th grade students will spend time in class and at home working on their history fair projects. Here is a link to a history fair web page. Please note that the dates are subject to change. |

Chapter 5: West Africa
We are heading west from the Arabian peninsula to Africa. Students will take quizzes after working on notes using three different methods. For lesson one, we took notes as a whole group. For lesson two students will take notes independently. For lesson three, students will work in cooperative groups. It will be interesting to see which method works best. Last time was very near a tie, with cooperative groups scores slightly higher than whole group or independent note taking. All upcoming quizzes are open notes. The projects can be done in class, but may require some home time. On the test, notes may be used and students can earn a 89%. In order to earn an A, no notes may be used on the chapter test. Below are the dates: 5.1 Quiz 10/13 Griot Project 10/19 5.2 Quiz Thursday 10/20 5.3 Quiz Chapter Test Thursday 10/27 |
